How do you get the peace that Jesus purchased for you?
The modus operandi or method of operation of most Christians is to pray or beg for it!
You don’t get peace by just praying or begging God to give it to you. For many Christians, it’s, “Oh God give me peace. Oh God, give me patience. Oh God, give me love. Oh God, give me healing. Oh God, give me faith. Oh God, give me joy!”
The truth is, you’ve already got everything. Jesus paid for all nine fruits of the Spirit.
When you were born again, your spirit was as saved as it’ll ever get. It’s not growing; it’s not maturing; your spirit is not ‘getting better.’ Your spirit is as perfect right this moment as is it will ever be.
Listen, 1 John 4:17 says, “As He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world.” That is, as Jesus is right now in heaven, so are we (born again believers) right now. Not: so are we going to be in the next world. We’re already that way. Now that is a huge revelation. Meditate upon it!
But the problem arises when people look in the mirror, and they think, “Really? This is like Jesus?” Then they search their souls and think, “Is this like Jesus?”
No, it’s not your body, and it’s not your soul (the seat of your emotions, will and feelings). But your spirit is perfect. Your spirit has already got love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal. 5:22-23). These are the fruit of the Spirit who is now living in your spirit. One third of you is wall to wall Holy Spirit!
You’ve already got peace. You don’t pray for it. What you do is: Renew your mind, and release it! That’s another huge revelation worth meditating upon.
How do you renew your mind? Through the Word of God. Settle in your mind what the Word of God says you already have and already are—just like Jesus! (see Romans 8:14-17) Does Jesus have peace? Yes. Is Jesus sick? No. Does Jesus have joy? Yes. Does Jesus have faith? YES! And so do you—now, in this world!
Once it is settled in your mind and heart, just release it. Just let it flow out of your spirit into the natural. See also 2Cor. 2:14 in the New King James Version.
To really know your real, true, identity in Christ, renew your mind with the Word of God, daily.
