A miracle is the suspension of natural laws by an outside power. It’s a super-natural intervention. For example Moses’ walking stick turning into a snake; Joshua stopping the sun from going down; Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walking around in an extremely hot furnace without getting burnt or their clothes smelling of smoke at all. From Genesis to Revelation the bible is full of miracles.

But did you know that every born-again believer of Christ can do miracles? Listen, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” (John 14:12, NKJV)

The word ‘works’ in the above verse refers to miracles. Jesus says that ‘whoever believes in Him (Jesus)’ will do the miracles that He (Jesus) did, and, will do even greater miracles than He (Jesus) did. Wow! Those are Jesus’ own words. Jesus never lies!

Last week’s key scripture explains why believers can do Jesus’ miracles, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” While the power is God’s power, it is us, born-again believers, that must ‘release’ God’s power “that works in us” in order to bring forth miracles!

Now God’s power is always ON in us like electricity, but, if you do not flick the switch, you’ll be sitting in darkness! You can ring Contact Energy every minute of the night and beg them to come and turn on the lights. But they won’t. Instead, they will say, “There is POWER at your address. You turn on the lights yourself. Flick the switch!”

But HOW do you flick the switch? How do you release God’s power that is at work in you, i.e. born-again believer?

Every year I watch the farmers around our area planting either corn or potatoes or onions or cabbages, etc. Several weeks later those seeds became small plants and before you know it is harvest time. Miracles come exactly the same way – whenever you have a need, plant a seed!

God’s Word is a seed, “For you are born anew, not of mortal seed, but of immortal: by the word of God, which lives and lasts forever.” (1 Peter 1:23, New Matthew Bible).

The word ‘seed’ in the above verse is literally ‘sperm’ in Greek. Like seeds that turn into plants and then a harvest, so does a sperm and egg that produce a child. God’s Word, the bible, is a seed, mixed with faith (grace), produces miracles!

If you want onions, you plant onion seeds. If you want healing miracles plant scriptures on healing. This law of sowing and reaping applies to all miracles be it finances, victorious living, walking in peace, hope, love, etc. You must plant the corresponding scriptures in your heart that match the miracles that you need. We always reap what we sow! (Galatians 6:7-8)

Luke 11:8 says, “The seed is the word of God.” (NKJV) Whenever you plant the Word of God you get the promises from the Word of God! Those promises include every miracle you need.

The best way to plant God’s Word in your heart is by ‘meditating’ or focusing on a bible verse for a period of time until that verse makes you pregnant, spiritually, and then gives birth to a miracle!

Finally, for best results, you must water your seeds. Praying scriptures is watering that/those bible verse(s) you’ve been meditating in. And sooner or later, your miracles have arrived!
