God Knows The Answer(s) To Your Questions

Today’s Message – Sorry there is no audio for this sermon.

Last week we looked at the importance of relying on God instead of people. Even with the best of intentions people can still let us down. But not God. Faithfulness and loyalty are parts of His character. He will therefore stand behind all of His promises. We concluded last Sunday with this practical scripture, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Pr. 16:3)

Jesus said that if we know the truth, then that truth will set us free. (John 8:32) Where do we find such truth? In the bible. The more you “know” your bible the more you discover God’s truth about relationships, finances, wisdom, security……how to deal with stress, confusion, fear, anxiety, hopelessness and any other human problem you can think of. God’s word, is truth. (John 17:17).

Let me put it this way, the bible is like a huge book of inheritance. It’s being said that there are 7,000 promises in the bible. Wow, what an inheritance. And you walked into that inheritance the day you surrendered your life to Jesus, repented of your sins and asked Him to be the LORD and Saviour of your life.  Sadly, there are many Christians who go throughout life without claiming a single one of those promises. Their inheritance is just sitting there doing nothing because they don’t know how to access them.

The best way to access your inheritance is through memorising scriptures. You must know what is in your inheritance. You must know what’s covered in those policies concerning finances, health, marriage, being a husband or wife, what to do with hopes and dreams, and so on. It’s too late looking for a bible when the doctor says, “I’m sorry but it’s terminal.” Or your good friend confides in you, ‘I’m filing for divorce.’ You must know ahead of time what God’s Word says about these situations. Listen to the Psalmist praying, Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.” (Ps. 119:97) Meditation and memorization of scriptures (bible verses) are the best way to hide God’s word in your heart. Then you’re ready 24/7.

Here is a great bible verse to memorise, “Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28, NIVUK) That’s Jesus inviting anyone who is loaded down with stress, worry, anxiety, fear,…….to come to Him and He will give him/her rest. It’s a simple exchange – you give Jesus your burden and He gives you His peace. I don’t know what you’re facing right now but I do know this for certain, Jesus never lies. He will do exactly what He promised.

Here’s an honest prayer, “Jesus, I need Your help. Please remove this burden from me. I surrender it (name your burden, problem, sin) now into Your hands. Thank You for hearing me now, in Your Name Jesus, Amen.” Say it aloud, slowly, and meaningfully. You will receive God’s peace.
