Today’s Message – Sorry No Audio
You may have heard this slogan: “Jesus is the Reason for the season!” Absolutely true! But did you know that you are also the reason for this season? For if it wasn’t for you Jesus would have not come to earth 2016 years ago. Jesus came specifically for you. Today’s message looks at the three things you need to know about Christmas or the three purposes of Christmas. Three reasons why Jesus came for you on that very first Christmas.
Number 1, GOD LOVES YOU! Perhaps the most quoted verse in the bible is John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son so that whoever believes in Him (the Son, Jesus) shall not perish but have eternal life.” Note the phrase, “For God so loved the world.” God came because of love. Indeed, Love came down on Christmas. The bible says that God is love. (1John 4:4). And Jesus is God in human flesh. To get the full picture of how much God loves you read and meditate on Romans 8:38-39 to discover how deep, how wide, how high, how nothing, literally nothing in all of creation, can separate you from the love of God through Jesus Christ! God loves you!
Secondly, GOD IS WITH YOU. Right now. Right there with you. In fact, there is no place, nowhere you can go that God is not with you. God wants to hang out with you all the time. Listen, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” (Psalms 139:7-10, NIV) So there need to fear because God is near. No need to be anxious or worry about anything for He is right there, with you, all the time.
The final and third purpose of Christmas is: GOD IS FOR YOU. Not only He loves you (1John 4:8), is with you (Ps. 139:7-10), but He is also FOR you. (Rom 8:31). Regardless of what people have told you about what God is like; the bible makes it clear that God is for you. (Rom 8:31). God is not mad at you or with you. It’s the devil, satan, who comes to steal, kill and destroy you. But, Jesus came to give you life abundantly because He is For you and want the best For you. (John 10:10b).
So as you celebrate Christmas remember these 3 revelations: GOD LOVES YOU, GOD IS WITH YOU, and GOD IS FOR YOU!
